You examine your 6 month old for signs of being a righty or a lefty in the hopes that she will be a righty like you… so that it is easier to teach her to knit.
True story. Maybe if I start teaching her early enough she can knit right handed no matter what? I have tried to teach someone the reverse before… and it was an epic failure! Eeek!! Haha!

this blog post brings up a good question. It is my humble opinion that you would teach any one to knit the same way you knit. As both hands are used, it makes little difference right handed or left handed…. knitting or crochet is not a right hand or left hand thing, it is just knitting or crocheting!
